2005/8月移居加拿大後,很幸運9月就找到教會的ESL課程,雖然當時三個月仍要費用$20(2006下半年起,已經改免費,而且中途休息時間仍有茶點招待),但對新移居加拿大尚須等三個月後才可以上政府免費ESL課程的朋友來說,何嘗不是一種早接觸洋人英文的機會。教會的義工老師們,各個和顏悅色地教導我們,而且提供她們的自製餅乾、蛋糕、甜點以及教會的咖啡、果汁給學員享用。我雖不信任何宗教,但我相信任何宗教的教友,都有一顆善良的心在服務大眾。這脆脆的餅乾,就是在教會學英文期間,向提供此餅乾的老人家義工老師要來的食譜>>>>
工具: 攪拌機、攪拌鍋、 涼架、烤盤兩個、烤箱、量杯一個、量匙(1T/1t/...)、平底小湯匙、 平底大膠匙。
材料: Brown sugar 1cup、White sugar 1/2 cup、Shortening 227g、egg 2pcs、Vanilla powder 1t、All purpose flour 2cups、Baking soda 1t、Salt 1/4t、Quick oak 2cups、rice krispies 2cups、Coconut strips 1cup、Small drop chocolates 1cup、White(or Black) sesame 1/2cup。
作法步驟>>>>>>
1. 將棕糖一杯、白糖1/2杯、酥油227克(買回是454克,切一半成227克即可)放入攪拌鍋內用攪拌機以最慢速拌均勻(需使用製餅用的平面器攪拌)
2. 接著放入2個蛋、香草粉 1t、中筋麵粉2杯、泡打粉 1t、鹽 1/4t,繼續拌勻>>>>>>>>>>>
3. 接著陸續放入燕麥 2杯、爆米花 2杯、椰絲 1杯、巧克力碎粒 1杯(可不要,我是因小孩喜歡)、芝麻 1/2杯(可不要,我是因它對身體有益)仍用最慢速拌均勻,最後務必用手(戴塑膠手套)拌勻(因機器有底部死角,拌不到之處)>>>>>>
4. (作此步驟前,要先將烤箱預熱,轉到165度C的溫度。)戴塑膠手套的手將以上混合物做成小丸子狀(數量以符合自家的烤盤大小為主),再用小平底湯匙壓扁成自然形狀,(故不直接用手做成扁狀)。再入烤箱烤15分鐘(中途要將烤盤裡外轉過來繼續烤,如此色澤才會全盤平均受熱)>>>>>>>>
5. 準備好涼架放在烤盤上,再將烤好的脆餅用平底大膠匙移到涼架上(此時要小心移位,因脆餅熱時軟軟的易破掉),等脆餅冷卻後,轉到涼架的下面放,涼架上繼續放烤出來的熱脆餅,等全部烤完,脆餅也已經冷卻,再將餅放入玻璃罐內保存,如此可以保持幾個月內的脆度。>>>>>>> 20070507 P.S.: 每一種食譜,轉換不同的烤箱,就會有一些些的差別作法,所以自己嘗試第一次、第二次....慢慢地修正別人給我們食譜內容,等到穩定作法時,食譜就是自己的了。

My Korean classmate and I asked her teaching us, then we went to her house, learned how to make them and got a recipe. She is a very nice old woman and can make many kind desserts. She told us she learned many baking skill from her mother. So you can try to make them, then treat your lodgers. It's a very traditional dessert.

回覆刪除Did you remember I have promised you about one-half years ago that I will bring my all recipes to visit you while my family travel the east Canada(including the vegetable seeds)? So no problem. But I guess your lodgers and family will long to eat them early, you can do very well the Rose Cake, I make sure that you also can make the crunch drops very well as my recipe of BLOG.
